Hello! My disability (that you can visually see) is I have a minor hearing loss in my right ear. I use a hearing aide. I just wanted to say hello to everyone.

It's nice to see someone posting in this community. Hearing loss can be pesky. I'm glad that a hearing aid helps for you.

My body has a bunch of different flaws and quirks. Vision is the most obvious. It used to be completely compensated by glasses but not anymore.

I have a lot of folks with various disabilities in my audience, so it comes up in writing, and that makes for great diversity.

Hello! :) I actually just wrote an entry last week about my personal struggles as of lately with my hearing loss.

No, they just were never great and have gotten worse over time. I don't usually talk about it, but occasionally it comes up. Didn't really seem fair to talk about yours without mentioning some of where I'm coming from.

I have found that it's much easier to get along with other freaks, queers, and people with disabilities than trying to get along with normal people. If my friends who have migraines need to go home 5 minutes after arriving, I don't hassle them; and if I melt after 5 minutes in summer heat, they don't hassle me. This is rarely the case with normal people. So my online audience has a lot of folks with various challenges, and that shows in the writing prompts that they give me.

When one has issues with their eyes it can be a truly complicated situation.

I've honestly never gotten along with "normal" people. I mean, what is normal anyway?
It's good to know you have a good supportive group of friends. Both online and in person. :)

No, for a lot of reasons. The medical industry is not compatible with my needs, so I avoid it as much as feasible.

True. It's tolerable, it's not as good as it was.
